We always had this dressing on hand at home – Mom would make it and store in a jar in the fridge. She says “this is the only dressing that will do for Potato Salad and devilled eggs – even Joan agrees on this.” (This is true!) We also used to have it drizzled over leaf lettuce from the garden – I am not a fan of it on leaf lettuce, but I do like it in potato salad and devilled eggs.

Grandma's Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 heaping teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vinegar
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened.
- Remove from heat and cool. Store in the refrigerator.
- You can add milk to thin it before use if you wish.
