Chilled Squares

July 2000 – In the summer, when you need a sweet treat and you don’t want to heat up the oven to bake cookies or squares, try one of these quick and easy chilled squares.

Keep some basic ingredients on hand, like graham wafer crumbs, chocolate chips, coconut, walnuts and miniature marshmallows. You can whip up a batch of squares in a hurry, without heating up the kitchen.

They make great snacks, and great desserts for a picnic or other summer gathering. Also popular for “dainty trays” and bake sales. And yes, you can make them in the winter too!

Chill out.
